OCT Anterior Segment

Anterior segment optical coherence tomography, or AS-OCT, is a non-invasive imaging technique that produces high-resolution images and quantitative measurements of the anterior segment and its anatomical structures. AS-OCT is a valuable tool for diagnosing and monitoring a variety of anterior segment disorders, including cataracts, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration.

ASOCT has been used to measure static factors such as the width of the AC angle.

01
Preparation for Anterior Segment OCT

You will sit in front of the OCT machine, resting your head on a support to keep it still. The equipment will then scan your eye without making contact. The scanning process will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

02
What conditions can Anterior Segment OCT help diagnose?

AS-OCT is a non-invasive imaging test that can help with the diagnosis of keratoconus, pachymetry mapping, and corneal ectasia. It can also be used to demonstrate Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy in more advanced cases.

Is dilation required for OCT?
It does not usually require dilation of the pupil to acquire images, although this may still be required depending on individual circumstances.
What is Anterior Segment OCT used for?
Anterior segment OCT (AS-OCT) provides high-resolution images of the anterior segment of the eye, making it a useful tool for diagnosing and managing corneal and ocular surface disorders.
What is AC depth?
Anterior chamber depth (ACD) is a biometric parameter that represents the distance between the corneal endothelium and the anterior capsule of the crystalline lens.
How much does Anterior Segment OCT test cost?
It will cost you 5000-Pak Rs.
